NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The City of York is submitting a Request For Proposals to Install Electrical wiring for an Emergency Generator. Sealed bids for this RFP are due back to the City of York by 2:00 PM on August 19, 2025. Sealed bids can be dropped off in person or mailed to: City of York, 100 East 4th Street, York, NE 68467.
Federal Funds are being utilized for the project, so the contractor will be required to complete the required forms and comply with the Davis-Bacon Act and Buy America, Build America (BABA) self-certification. Contractors will also have to provide an estimate of hours needed to complete the project and an hourly breakdown of labor costs.
Emergency Generator is a Cummins C200D6D, Diesel Genset, 60Hz, 200kW. The Generator will be wired into the existing main electrical panels, to be utilized as an alternative power source during an electrical outage. The generator will be installed at the City Auditorium located at 612 North Nebraska Ave, York, NE 68467. An Automatic Transfer Switch will also need to be installed with the Generator. After installation, contractor will need to be present while the generator manufacturer conducts commissioning of the generator. Project needs to be completed prior to October 31, 2025.

2025 4-inch Watermain Replacement Project
Sealed bids will be received by the City of York, Nebraska at 100 East 4th Street (P.O. Box 276), York, Nebraska, 68467, until 2:00 p.m. local time, on August 28, 2025 and then publicly opened and read aloud in the York City Hall Council Chambers, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for “2025 4-inch Watermain Replacement Project”.
In general, the improvement on which bids are requested will require the following construction:
- Traffic Control
- Existing Pavement Removal
- 8” Ductile Iron Pipe Polywrapped Watermain (approximately 1350 LF)
- 8” Ductile Iron Pipe Polywrapped Bored in Place (approximately 2650 LF)
- One-Inch Type ”K” Copper Services with curb stop and corporation stop (approximately 82)
- Hydrants Assembles, Gate Valves, Insertion Valves, Retainer Glands, Reducers, Tees, Couplers, thrust blocking, and other misc water components
- Seeding/Sodding
- Pavement and Sidewalk Replacement

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held for this project on August 14th, 2025, at 10:00. The meeting will be informative in nature and not required.
Qualification: Contractors and Sub-Contractors must be qualified to do the work. Refer to the Instructions to Bidders (ITB) for registration requirements.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the total amount of the bid. The bid guaranty may be by certified check on a solvent bank or bid bond made payable to the City of York, York, Nebraska.
All proposals submitted in accordance with the instructions presented herein will be subject to evaluation. Bids may be held by the City of York, York, Nebraska for a period not to exceed 30 calendar days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of evaluating bids prior to award of contract.
Award of contract will be based on the lowest aggregate sum proposal (Total Bid) for all work submitted from those bidders that are confirmed as being responsive and responsible. Contractor's bidding shall bid all items. The right is reserved, as the City of York, York, Nebraska, to reject any and all bids and to waive any or all irregularities, technicalities, informality or any information in the bids received.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish separate performance and payment bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract.
